To The Daily Sun,

I’m a lifelong Republican, and I support Citizens for Belknap’s efforts to return to reasonable governance for Belknap County.

A recent article in The Laconia Daily Sun, “Corrections staff close to dangerously low, supt. tells commissioners,” shows just how dangerous it was giving power to the Libertarians pretending to be Republicans.

After years of noncompetitive pay, our corrections personnel have made choices to leave what used to be a stable, solid career choice that can support a family. Instead, years of irresponsible neglect of Belknap County institutions.

Now, the county faces staffing shortages that threaten public safety. A threat which could have been avoided had we had a Delegation who chose protection of the public and responsible management of our tax dollars rather than a “burn it all down for liberty” mentality. Sound familiar? The same thing happened at Gunstock and the county nursing home.

As a lifelong Republican, I’m all for limited government. But I’m not for chaos and mismanagement caused by pretend Republicans. Please vote for reasonable candidates on Nov. 8.
