It has been said that history repeats itself ... and has it ever. Donald Trump said on Tuesday that he wants to take over Gaza and send Palestinians to Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt. The response from all three countries was no.
He also added that Gaza would make a “wonderful Riviera.” I’m thinking a golf course will be sure to follow. Hey, what’s a million and half people being displaced for a good cause.
As far as history repeating itself I am referring to a question asked by U.S. Army lawyer Joseph Welch to U.S. Sen. Joseph McCarthy at the Army McCarthy hearings in 1954 about Communism when McCarthy stated that a young associate at Welch’s office had been member of an organization that was a “legal arm of the Communist Party”. Welch said, “Until this moment senator, I think I never really gauged your cruelty or your recklessness.” Then added “Have you no sense of decency, sir, at long last?”
