Will someone please explain why so many professed Christians support our former president, a serial adulterer and convicted sexual predator? I am at a loss to understand how, as a faithful Christian, one is willing to defend his reprehensible behavior much less promoting such an immoral candidate for public office.
Donald Trump has refused to express any remorse for his transgressions while intensifying his vulgar, nasty attacks on any and all that may disagree with him. This profound religious hypocrisy permeates the fabric of a civilized society. Why fervent Christians idolize him is beyond a reasonable person’s understanding. Are certain sinful actions valid if done by specific individuals? Is occasional piousness an allowable practice among adherents? Is distinguishing right from wrong an arbitrary and capricious process that is applied on a whim? I understand moral and legal rules; it’s the religious rules that confuse me.
