Mob is not seeking asylum, this is an invasion of our country

To The Daily Sun,

The vote on November 6 is for more than just about local and state officials. It is a vote for keeping America a sovereign nation, or giving in to pressures from far too many on the left to have this great nation become just another socialist country with all the current problems associated with that form of government.

The caravan of “refugees” approaching our southern border states rushed into Mexico as a mob. A caravan turned mob is an overt act of aggression — invasion — by organizers. The mob is running away from failed "democratic (?) socialism." If successful in gaining entry to the U.S., they will be followed by many more from Guatemala, Honduras, and El Salvador and Venezuela and other Southern Hemisphere countries where socialism has failed its citizens.

President Trump and Congress may have to exercise martial law. This mob isn't seeking asylum. This is an invasion of our country based on identified funding sources for this massive border attack. Without secure borders this soon will no longer be your sovereign USA nation or your New Hampshire; it will be just another third-world nation. Letters such as this will no longer appear in papers.

A vote for candidates supporting socialist practices at any level of government will help guarantee that's in your future. A vote for conservatives at all levels — representing you locally and in Concord— who believe in the rule of law and our Constitution will help keep New Hampshire — and America — great.

Hello Jim, I am sorry but 10 minutes on Google will review that there is little accuracy in your letter. It seems like the Republican efforts to make the caravan of refugees a central issue is paying off. Even here one person will re-post some quasi-intellectual fear mongering musings about 5000 frequently barefoot, unarmed, walking refugees, 1500 miles away from our closest border are a threat to our "sovereignty".

To start with, it's a non-issue: it's small. It also has happened before, this is not new. If we assume that it has about 5,000 to 7000 people, that comes out to about 100-140 people per each US state. To keep that in perspective 10,000 people die each year in DUI accidents, google it, its true, at a cost of 44 Billion a year. There is a number that you really should be scared of. The caravan is completely legitimate. It is legal to ask for asylum. They will reach the border and then they will be processed as usual. Nothing out of the ordinary. Over 90,000 daily commuters cross the San Ysidoro border crossing every day. Atlanta airport processes 260,000 passengers daily.

It might seem that the reason Trump and his ilk are making this a huge issue is to distract Americans from real problems. Republicans always need enemies where there are none. Here they found some, and it's working for them.

We should be smarter than that. We should not be distracted this easily. We should expose the bull for what it is.
