Mayor Mike Bordes: Rep Mike Bordes is running again to represent local voters

I have had the privilege of serving the people of Laconia as both mayor and as a three term state representative for Belknap County District 5. I want to speak directly to residents about my record, my approach to public service, and the organizations that have supported my work.

My time in Concord has been defined by bipartisan cooperation. I have worked across the aisle on public safety issues, mental health resources, and family support legislation. I have never hesitated to vote independently when I believed it served the best interests of the people I represent. That independence has earned criticism from partisan voices, but I believe Granite Staters expect practical problem solving, not political loyalty tests.

My legislative record includes sponsorship of bills that became law, advocacy for first responders, and protection of constitutional rights. I have maintained accessibility to constituents throughout each term, responding directly to concerns and working with local leaders on issues affecting families, workers, and public safety.

I am proud to have earned endorsements from the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire AFL‑CIO, SEA/SEIU Local 1984, and the NRA Political Victory Fund. These organizations represent workers, first responders, and constitutional advocates, and their support reflects years of collaboration, open communication, and shared priorities.

I also want to address my involvement with Gunstock Mountain Resort. During the period of instability surrounding its governance, I was one of the early voices pushing back against efforts that threatened the mountain’s operations and the community’s trust. I supported maintaining local control, protecting the mountain, and ensuring Gunstock remained a recreational and economic asset for the Lakes Region.

I continue to focus on transparency, strengthening public safety, supporting small businesses, and protecting taxpayer dollars. I would be honored to earn residents' vote again on Nov. 3.
