To The Daily Sun,
The mythic threat of the 1% is just that: a myth. It's a myth designed to promote the most destructive of human emotions: jealousy. The 1% do exist, but I do not believe that they sit around a table and come up with new ways to keep me poor. The only person keeping me poor is me and I will solve that if I can with time and work and maybe a bit of luck. It would be comforting to think that my circumstances are someone else's fault, but they aren't. I made my choices, just as we all do. Is it hard? Do some make more mistakes than others? Are some more successful than others? Yes. Should I consider all those who have wealth to be an enemy? No. In a capitalist system, in any system of government that I know of, some will be more successful than others. The wealthy are not hoarding a limited supply of money, they just have more of it. I don't have any more right to their money than someone who is poorer than me has a right to mine.
