To The Daily Sun,
Not all war and conflicts are about economics. The current war in Ukraine is about a lust for empire. Empires are paid for in blood and fire and pain and Putin is willing to spend as much as needed to get his empire. Another aspect of empires is that they are never satisfied, the more they get, the more they want. That is what Taiwan is facing. A growing empire that wants more and more lead by a leader who values human life about as much as he values what he had for lunch yesterday. Taiwan wouldn't even be a snack for China, but China wants it anyway. Emmanuel Macron leads a nation and nations do not have friends, only interests. He seeks, as all leaders seek, the best deal for his country. He looks at the U.S. with its weak leader and inept government, a country that's decaying more and more each day and sees the weakness that is obvious to the rest of the world. China may be morally abhorrent, but China is strong and getting stronger. France may be the first, but as long as the U.S. continues to weaken, it won't be the last country to more friendly toward China.
