To The Daily Sun,

Recently the NH Education Policy and Administration committees fast tracked the Open Enrollment bill despite immense opposition. Online testimony opposing the bill was 2,173 versus support of 75. This is just another example of the Republican-led house not listening to their constituents.

The issues go beyond education where Republicans have a deaf ear. A Granite State poll identified that the vast majority of voters did not want an ICE facility in Merrimack or anywhere in the state. Fifty-seven percent were in opposition, 31% in support and 7% had no opinion. The Democrats tried to bring in a bill giving Merrimack veto power over the project, but it was defeated by Republicans.

The poll asked about the bill to prohibit colleges and universities from banning firearms on campus. Forty-nine percent were in opposition, and 35% in support and 14% with no opinion. Yet despite the opposition, the House passed the bill.

Decisions from the rescinding of ballot counting machines to the elimination of all vaccine requirements for children to attend school have not escaped the heavy hand of the Republicans.

I implore all voters to know how their representatives are voting on issues. There is an easy way to become informed. Use the link 603forward.org/mystaterep. Readers will not only know about how their representatives voted but will learn about the contents of the bills.
