To The Daily Sun,

More why questions:

Why don't voters in Belmont want to renovate the Mill for town offices? The voters have voted this down for years, so many times that the Belmont Police Department built their own building. The Main Street building that houses Town Offices has seen better days and probably should be torn down. Is it a fire hazard? It's certainly not set up for the Town Offices.

Why are we letting the New Hampshire State Legislature determine how and what we teach at our public schools, and at what cost? Yes, some state regulation is necessary to ensure that all students have the same opportunities. Obviously, the costs will vary considerably from town to town. Instead of making sure the costs are the same for every student in the state, some in the legislature want to allow students to go to any school in the state no matter the cost to their hometown school. Added to the cost of educating a student, is transportation and time. Again, why? And how much money is coming from the lottery for education and where is it being used?

Why did our military use 850 Tomahawk missiles in the first four weeks of the "war" with Iran?

If you have some WHY questions yourself, especially local ones, write them down and send them in to the Laconia Daily Sun. I'm trying to get people to think about what is going on locally, statewide and nationally.

From my previous letter: a little confusion about calling ourselves "Americans." You can identify as an "American" if you want, but just remember there are millions of others on this continent who call themselves "Americans" also. Just because they live in a different area of the continent, doesn't mean they are not "American."
