To The Daily Sun,
A recent InDepthNH.org headline read: “Ayotte Said She Welcomes Trump Administration Observation of NH Elections.”
Without Big Brother doublespeak it would have read: “Ayotte Said She Welcomes Trump Administration Obstruction of NH Elections.”
New Hampshire doesn’t need federal agents looking over the shoulders of our local and state vote counters ― or worse intimidating voters.
Andru Volinsky, legal scholar and former member of the state's Executive Council, fears Trump “sending his thugs to interfere with our primary and general elections this year in an effort to prevent Democrats from taking Congress and, just maybe, the U.S. Senate.”
National polling shows the vast majority of Americans disapprove of Trump’s administration. The administration has intentionally showcased its brutality via shooting and killing of peaceful protesters and beating and imprisoning legal immigrants. Almost daily, thanks to citizen videos, we witness the crimes of the state perpetuated against everyday citizens just like us.
The administration’s botched job at repairing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool is the latest example of how far it will go to cover its lies and failing. It was pushing to put an innocent sightseer in prison for up to 10 years to cover up the botched job that Trump’s no bid contractor did in wrecking the pool.
Fortunately, Trump appointee U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro dropped the charges, resulting in headlines like this: “In Dropping Reflecting Pool Case, Pirro Draws Trump's Wrath.”
Gov. Kelly Ayotte, maybe because of that wrath, has decided that a corrupt, failed government, overwhelmingly disapproved by the citizenry should be allowed to oversee our local and state elections. She has sold us out probably motived by a combination of fear and her own political advantage. This is not the kind of leadership that New Hampshire wants or needs.
