Len Hanley: For some reason, Halloween is seen by many as sacred holiday

A couple of my last letters on this subject caused strawman arguments by full on Karens, because for some reason Halloween is seen by many as so sacred a holiday that it can't be questioned or inconvenient and uncomfortable facts pointed out about it with sources, like Halloween catalogs for example. Just try it and see. Therefore, I decided to direct this letter to my fellow Christians since we outnumber every other religion in the United States and the world and can have a greater impact anyway. United we can do to Halloween what happened to Target and Bud Light when they lost millions and billions of dollars from boycotts.

There are social pressures put on us by family, friends, the media, retailers, and advertising to celebrate Halloween. It is not easy to tell them we choose not to celebrate or participate in Halloween and stick with it. They will sneer and tell us we are weird or some other means to push us to comply. I stand my ground not complying every year and so can others. Retailers want our money so bad they start stocking and putting out ads months in advance. Talk about greedy. Yet, isn't it strange they don't sell anything for people who don't celebrate Halloween to display?

We must remember it is Jesus Christ we are following and it is him we should be trying to please over people. So when it comes to Halloween, let's consider that it celebrates fear, death, violence, horror, the occult, and more recently based on some inappropriate costumes, lust. Would Jesus do it? And second, would readers want Jesus to see their house and yard decorated with traditional Halloween items? Let's pray and fight against it, not join with those following the god of this world.
