To The Daily Sun,

As a proud Laconia resident for 42 years and a resident of Ward 2 for nearly 20 years, I feel very fortunate that I am able to serve as your current school board member of Ward 2 and hope to continue for another three years.

We are lucky to have three amazing elementary schools in our great city, each one filled with incredible students from all different wards. Back when Matt Lahey’s three children graduated from Woodland Heights (as he references in his letter to The Daily Sun on Nov. 4), children attended an elementary school closest to their ward. Nowadays things have changed, in an opportunity to let all children have an equal chance to attend a school outside their ward, parents/guardians are able to choose.

We are so fortunate to have our three elementary schools filled with amazing teachers and staff ready and willing to educate the minds of these great kids. I not only represent the constituents who live in Ward 2, I also serve on the school board to better the education for all of Laconia.
