To The Daily Sun,
Crisp evenings, leaves changing color, pumpkins. ... Fall is here. This also means it’s election season. In reading several articles I decided to write a letter to share some thoughts that are important to me.
When voters consider voting for any candidate: local, state or federal office, please keep in mind their qualities that align with what is important to them.
Do they want a person to hear their individual thoughts and concerns? Do they want someone representing them at the Statehouse with consistent attendance? Do they want a candidate to do their homework on the bills they’re voting on?
Or...
Do they want someone representing them who only identifies with their “party”? Do they want a candidate who will vote yes or no because their “party” told them how they should vote?
It’s time to support having representation of what’s important to us as individuals and communities. Having parties working together, listening to our concerns, to represent all of us.
My thoughts above align with supporting my father, Tom Ploszaj, as a candidate for state representative. I believe in my father’s reasons for running for a third term as state representative for New Hampton and Center Harbor. He’s always taught me that working together gets someone the furthest in life. Voters can reach out to him in advance and tell him how they’d like him to represent them during this session. They can discuss with him what is important to them.
