To The Daily Sun,
The article in The Laconia Sun by Bob Martin is the best interview I’ve seen in the last six years regarding my “daddio’s” stance on representing Center Harbor and New Hampton as a state representative.
Thanks to Bob for fairly representing my father’s key platform as a three term state representative: “I don’t vote for an agenda or the party; I am here for my constituents.”
My father, although a New Hampshire transplant for now 20% of his life, has a “local guy” attitude from his Connecticut upbringing. Working locally, responding to ambulance calls as a volunteer EMT, raising his two children on a small family-owned farm, while nurturing the values of a close large extended family.
Morals, values, integrity, doing what’s right even when it’s not the popular choice, working hard, seeing the best in others, the value of education, time being precious and meant to be filled with experiences: these are the influences my father has offered me consistently throughout the roller coaster ride of life.
I encourage readers to talk with him and share their concerns and enlighten him how he can best support voters in Concord as residents of Center Harbor and New Hampton, and the Belknap region as a whole.
Also taking a moment to thank Amber Schaefer for stepping up and running for the Democratic Party. Reading Amber’s interview reminded me of my father when I was younger.
People who step up to the tasks locally deserve support, regardless of party affiliation. The region can only benefit from volunteers who work hard, dedicate their time and energy, to try and make a difference so voices are heard locally and in Concord.
Best of luck to my Daddio and Amber.
