To The Daily Sun,
We have been forced to make some difficult decisions to keep our nonprofits safe and secure. Due to the consistent issues with parking and unfortunate near misses due to people parking poorly, we are forced to close our clothing area. We will no longer be supplying clothing; we also will no longer be open on the weekends.
The weekends has notoriously been terrible. We have numerous people trying to get in all at once. Far too often we have people half in the road, half out of the road and at a high risk for a motor vehicle accident. We do not wish to see anyone hurt and we certainly do not wish to see this hurt our continued mission for our community.
As of Oct. 19, Restoration Acres Farm will no longer be open on the weekends. If readers are in an emergent situation, please reach out and we will set up a time to come and get the food. We will, however, still be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. We do ask people to pull all the way in the driveway so that they can safely exit their cars. We ask if they do not feel safe parking in the driveway and getting out, please park on the side of the road going with traffic. This helps keep our nonprofit safe and secure for all who need it.
We truly hope these changes will help everyone and we hope to not have to go to appointment only.
