To The Daily Sun,
I am writing to announce my intent to run for the Gilmanton School Board.
I grew up in Gilmanton and have lived here most of my life. Multiple generations of my family have called this town home, and I raised my two children here as well. After a 40-year career as a registered nurse, I am retired and ready to continue serving the community that has given so much to me.
I am running on common sense, listening, and thoughtful representation of all taxpayers, while keeping students at the center of every decision. I believe our school should be the heart of our community: a place where students thrive and where families, staff, and residents all feel like true stakeholders. I bring a strong belief in New England thrift, paired with Yankee ingenuity. These core values allow me to be a careful steward of public funds while still supporting high-quality education.
My professional background has given me a strong understanding of state legislation and the processes that impact our schools and local taxes. I am committed to helping residents understand these policies and to ensuring their voices are heard when decisions are made. I am a hard worker, a careful listener, and someone who values respectful dialogue and collaboration.
Gilmanton deserves thoughtful, transparent leadership on the school board. I would be honored to serve.
