John Walker: What in the political world is happening lately in USA?

To The Daily Sun, 

Please tell me I am only dreaming, is it just a troubling nightmare? Don’t worry, I tell myself upon wakening, it was only a dream.

Except, it isn’t a dream …

• Our country elected a person who seems to want to be king, not only of the USA, but of the Western world.
• Said person begins killing people and boats going from Latin America northward, claiming them to be drug-runners.
• Said person kills any survivors of these initial attacks.
• Said person directs an incursion into a Latin American country and captures their president.
• Said person wants to take control of an island owned by a NATO ally.
• Said person threatens military intervention to do so.
• Said person threatens a Middle Eastern country with military intervention if they begin killing protesters.

Said person sends six times as many federal agents as the size of their police force without a request for help from local authorities, to an American city. Those forces kill a protester.

Said person is a huge threat to everything this country has stood for since World War II. He is a threat to the balance that has been achieved to arrive at some semblance of world order.

Said person has been elected, but fortunately for us, we have a system of checks and balances to ensure said person does not become “king-like.”

Where are those checks and balances? How have we gotten here? Hypocrisy reigns supreme with this administration, it is disgusting.

Donald J. Trump has become a threat to everything I have known in my 77 years. How do we get rid of him before he destroys everything most of we Americans have ever stood for? I do not understand him. 

What can I do to assist Congress to grow a backbone and stop this absolute nonsense?
