John Demakowski: Scientific advances are great but are we better as people?

To The Daily Sun,

I am very pro-science. Though I've been accused of being anti-science, but when scientists stay in their lane I'm very supportive. It's when scientists want to teach morality, function as prophets, interpret history, and lobby governments to deal heavy handedly with the people to pursue their ends that I object.

Intelligent, though gullible, people have accepted them in this capacity for generations now. Have we gotten any better for so doing. Sure, knowledge and technology have increased at astronomical rates. But have we gotten better as a people. If you look around your neighborhood, your city, your state, the nation, the world and are honest the answer is a clear "no." Even though most who are for gun control won't admit it, what they are really saying is that the American people can no longer be trusted to own guns. That's an indictment on our culture. Drug addiction, suicide, random mass murders, lack of civility; all are indictments on our culture.

People the answer is in the pages of the Bible. Jesus is the answer. He loves you. He wants to forgive you, and prepare a place for you in the loving presence of His Father. The world is only going to get worse. Come into the loving kingdom of our Heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ our Lord. He is the only hope. Everything is working according to His plan. He's in charge of everything if you know Him or not. Do you want to know Him as your loving Lord and savior and King, or your severe and just judge. He gives each of us a choice. Which will you chose?

This is a letter I submitted for publication on Feb. 11 that The Sun did not publish. Now with the Covid 19 pandemic I have to ask a question. First off, this is not a question but a statement I will make. God is in control of everything. So what is His purpose? For years I've been writing about our, as American's corporate and individual Sins, and without repentance; the inevitability of God's judgement. People this is just the second shot across the bow. If God's people, we the church will humble ourselves and pray, God will turn this plague away and return our nation to health and prosperity. He will make a way. Only be careful to continue to walk in repentance, or an even more severe judgement will come our way.
