To The Daily Sun,

Can someone explain to me why the Republicans have the candidate Matt Mowers for Congress here in N.H.? Matt Mowers is a New Jersey native who has not resided in N.H. long enough to qualify to be a member of the N.H. House or Senate. His claim to understanding and appreciating the values of the people of N.H., is that he helped run Governor Christie’s presidential campaign in 2016. I don’t want to hurt the man’s feelings, but not only didn’t Christie win, he didn’t finish second, third, fourth or fifth but rather a bad sixth. If it had been a horse race, based on the results he might have found himself on the way to the glue factory.

Obviously, Mowers showed no understanding of the N.H. electorate, yet the Republicans say he would best represent us. As always, it is disappointing when money becomes the overriding factor in elections. Forty per cent of Mowers campaign money comes from out of state. It appears the governor and his party is again (think Corky Messner) outsourcing political positions to the highest bidder, and letting out of state pretend politicians pad their resumes. Let’s send this carpetbagger packing, by sending Chris Pappas back to Washington to continue his great work, but also send a message to the N.H. Republican party we want creditable candidates who can truly represent the people of N.H.
