To The Daily Sun,
Some people are saying that we are spending too much on the war in Ukraine. I beg to differ: Consider the cost per day if we had troops on the ground. Not since Ronald Reagan's time have we had an opportunity to watch Russia implode due to military overspending. Putin and others are getting the message from the U.S. and the world that such aggression is not tolerated. China, North Korea and Iran are watching closely and hopefully learning the same lesson as Russia: Don't do it.
All told, I would say that our investment in Ukraine is well worth it.

I agree that what we are doing in Ukraine is exactly what we should, perhaps we have not gone far enough. For example: I hope we are training Ukrainian pilots right now to fly NATO aircraft, something that can take months if not a year. Clearly the money we have spent towards a well equipped and trained force is paying off in Ukraine. As for the spending - the world was surprised that the Russian Military was such paper tiger, it does make me wonder that the capabilities of the Russians might have been inflated by corporations with Defense/DOD interests in the US.
