To The Daily Sun,
As a person that has been a full-time resident of Moultonborough for 65-plus years and a seasonal resident before that, I have seen many changes in the make up of our town.
I’m sure many remember when the village was made up of a market known as Ellen’s, a sports shop in the backyard and a gas station where the Meredith Village Savings Bank is now. I think most of us have accepted the changes as a positive step to add to the growth of the town. Now we have a chance to make a big change that I feel will make a good move forward with the purchase of the CruCon building. If voted in, it will bring many of the things that would help the town work together. Beginning with the administration office, the selectboard's office, town clerk, the tax office, town planner, planning and zoning boards and code of enforcement staff. It would also give the recreation department a much needed space to expand all the things they do for our residents.
It will also house the Meals on Wheels program, the Boy Scouts, the Women’s Club and many other functions needed in a state of the art facility. All this without raising our taxes.
Please vote yes on the CruCon acquisition.
