Jason Sproul: Jason Sproul running for Belknap County Treasurer seat

My name is Jason Sproul and I am running for Belknap County Treasurer. The citizens of our county deserve a treasurer who will work with the professional county staff to implement the budget approved by the county delegation and follow the directives of the county commissioners.

We all have political views and ideas about public policy, and this position is not the place for them.

Our long-time treasurer Michael Muzzey has set the standard for quiet diligence. Unfortunately he has decided not to run again. I would like to thank him for his excellent service, and continue in his footsteps.

As taxpayers we can save ourselves money by avoiding chaos and disruption. I have built and delivered results with multi-million-dollar budgets in my 25 years as an engineering manager and director at both startups and large corporations. I also have experience working with third-party auditing firms on compliance with healthcare data privacy regulations. I am confident that this experience prepares me to serve my fellow taxpayers faithfully and effectively as your county treasurer.

I ask all voters to support me in the state primary elections on Tuesday, Sept. 8. If voters take a Democratic primary ballot my name will be printed. If readers take a Republican primary ballot, please write in my name.

The role of county treasurer is non-political and should remain non-partisan. If I am elected, I promise to continue upholding the standards set by Mr. Muzzey.
