James Veverka: The US is courting global isolation for several reasons

U.S. diplomacy has, for far too long, been that of blackmail, bribery, extortion, threats of violence, economic strangulation, and war. Many nations are doing their best to get as far away from us as possible, economically and militarily. The world has become multipolar, and the U.S. refuses to accept this. We have been courting global isolation for decades.

BRICS is rising to offer an alternative to the West's stranglehold on the global economy. BRICS is Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, and has expanded to include Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE. It represents over 40% of the world's population and nearly 40% of the global GDP. Central banks are dumping U.S. treasuries, switching to gold and other currencies. These nations are also replacing the U.S.-controlled SWIFT banking system with their own.

China is now Saudi Arabia's largest trading partner. They have a currency swap agreement, and the Saudis are close to accepting Chinese currency for oil sales payments. A de-dollarization trend is growing worldwide. Dump American currency and American imperialism. Canada just made a landmark trillion-dollar trade deal with China. Payments will be in Yuan and Canadian dollars. The EU and India recently announced a trade deal that would remove or reduce tariffs on most goods traded. China and Russia are making economic and military deals with Iran. Iran is now armed with China's anti-stealth YLC-8B satellite-integrated air defense system. Pakistan defeated India with it recently. Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have signed a mutual defense agreement. Southeast Asian nations are banding together to increase and diversify regional trade. The UK is courting Beijing to promote economic ties for growth. Greece and Turkey just signed a series of bilateral agreements, including economic ones.
