To The Daily Sun,

I am a scout at Camp Wanocksett taking the communications merit badge. I wanted to offer my opinion on the issue of increased costs due to state mandated PFAS testing. In the article, you mentioned that protecting your lakes was important to the community. I wanted to emphasize this importance by pointing out that lakes are a key part of your community and drive much of the tourism that passes through. If your lakes were contaminated, it would undoubtedly be a PR nightmare and your tourism would take a huge hit that far outweighs any prospective costs that would come from keeping your lakes clean. Therefore, I believe that any additional money for PFAS testing should be put in the next budget.
