To The Daily Sun,

Hi, my name is Scott Burns and I am a running for State Representative for Franklin Wards 1 and 2, and the Town of Hill. In my campaign, I am focusing on the state’s responsibility for the funding of public education. The downshifting of the past needs to stop. There are so many communities in need of more educational funding because their tax base cannot support the lack of revenue from the state. I look forward to the commission on education funding report due out on December first to see how we can address more money to the communities. All this money needs to be restored in some form, to help communities provide other essential services like paving their roads.

I also support the expansion of broadband access, needed for businesses to grow and particularly now, with the prospect of continued remote learning, for students to keep up with their studies. My waste initiatives, designed to separate such things as large bulk items, compost, food waste, and recyclable materials from everyday household trash, can save municipalities money and ensure a brighter and more sustainable future, while creating worthwhile jobs throughout the state.

Please consider me for State Representative on Tuesday, Nov 3rd.
