To The Daily Sun,Â
Next Tuesday we go to the polls for Primary Election. On the Democratic side there is a hotly contested race for congressional representative in our district (the seat currently held by Rep. Chris Pappas) with a number of good candidates seeking election. In my view, one stands out.
Carleigh Beriont has been the main candidate to run a positive, non-personal campaign, emphasizing what she wants to accomplish rather than attacking fellow candidates. She has urged us all to keep the focus on policy, not personality, emphasizing that the contest should be for the people, rather than against her opponents.
In many ways her campaign is very much like those of the past which were run by Carole Shea-Porter, avoiding corporate PAC money that could obligate the candidate in future votes. Beriont's campaign has consistently been a grassroots one, with many volunteers and supporters providing the impetus for change that she seeks and the funding for her campaign.
On primary day, I urge everyone taking a Democratic ballot to vote for Carleigh Beriont to represent us in Congress.
