TILTON — Barbara J. Huckins, 73, passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 18, 2026.

She was the daughter of Douglas J. Braley and Dorothy M. Braley-Mudgett, born May 11, 1953, in Laconia. Barbara attended Tilton-Northfield High School and graduated in 1971. She worked for Laconia Needle before working for various law firms in Concord. She retired from the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.

Barbara was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sanbornton and a loyal volunteer at the thrift shop there. She thoroughly enjoyed interacting with all who came to the thrift shop and helping the church with this ministry.

She is survived by her son, Todd C. Huckins and wife Nicole, two grandchildren, Isabella Huckins and Jack Huckins of Wales, Massachusetts; siblings Douglas P. Braley and wife Melody of Tilton, and Gale A. Pucci and husband Anthony of Northfield; and many nieces and nephews.

If you knew her, you know what a sweet person she was, and how big her heart was. Many called her Auntie Barb. Her grandchildren called her Nana Huckins, which she loved.

Barbara was predeceased by her parents.

A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the First Baptist Church of Sanbornton, 17 Church Lane in Sanbornton.
