To The Daily Sun,

We live in a complex world that changes almost daily. As such, we need to elect leaders that have common sense; integrity; consensus building skills; commitment to public service and respect for diverse opinions. There are a mix of fiscal, social, technological and public safety issues that challenge our state legislators on a daily basis. These issues are combined with the daily challenges that face the people they represent: cost of living; housing; fuel; healthcare and grocery expenses make it imperative that elected officials uphold the core principal of a democracy. "Listen to and act on the needs of the people they represent."

The upcoming elections are taking place in a time that has never been so politically convoluted. Decisions that will be made in November, will shape the stability, safety and well-being of entire communities.

Marcia Hayward is running for the New Hampshire House of Representatives. As a resident of Laconia and a retired educator who worked in the school systems of Laconia and Belmont, she has first-hand knowledge of the needs of our communities. Her experience as a science teacher has given her the innate ability to think and work analytically with data to solve problems. These were many of the same skills that she used as a principal, along with building relationships; balancing listening and action and identifying problematic issues and types. Marcia Hayward has the skills, ability, knowledge and passion to assume the role of New Hampshire state representative.
