Don Ewing: Trump works within the law to make the country safer

President Donald Trump is called a racist for trying to make Washington, D.C. safer because many of the criminals who are arrested, or convinced not to commit crimes, are Black.

Only people who care more about the criminals, as the Democrats appear to do, than protecting law-abiding, innocent people would consider Trump’s actions to reduce crime as racist.

Democrat actions, e.g., defunding the police, refusing to prosecute criminals, and releasing criminals without bail to continue victimizing innocent people like the mostly Black citizens of Washington, D.C. (and other Democrat controlled cities), show that Democrats are the actual racists.

Some say crime in D.C. is down and Trump’s help is unneeded. I suspect most people would agree that the 26 homicides in New Hampshire in 2023 is too high. D.C. had 274 (2023) and 191 (2024) homicides with about half of New Hampshire’s population. Of course crime needs to be reduced in D.C.

Some Democrats say that Trump threatens our democracy and wants to be a dictator because he sent federal law enforcement and the National Guard to help reduce crime in Washington, D.C. Really? These same people said Trump would cancel the 2020 elections and refuse to leave office. One wonders if these people are sane.

Trump follows and enforces our laws, he even follows court orders from biased judges until they are overturned, and he works to make law-abiding Americans wealthier, healthier, and safer. Trump doesn’t threaten our “Democracy,” he shows that government can make life better for the American people. 

Trump shows that politicians who care about people can make their lives better. Trump exposes that Democrat politicians don’t care and haven’t cared about improving the lives of the American people.
