Diane Lewis: Thanks to excellent, professional delivery men

We recently purchased several kitchen appliances from Lowe's, in Gilford.

We've been customers for many years, and have always had quality products and service.

A delivery date was scheduled, and we looked forward with great anticipation to enjoying our new appliances. When the truck pulled up to our house, as arranged, we were ready. We'd measured the doorways many times, to our old house, and the refrigerator was empty, ready to go.

The first deliveryman approached, and said the new products wouldn't fit through the doors. Since our present stove and fridge had come in that way, we knew that couldn't be; but we rushed to make the front door entry available — through an attached porch, and through the house. After hastily rearranging furniture, the man entered with measuring tape in hand, and agreed the new appliances would fit.

He and his partner returned to the truck and to our amazement drove away.

We frantically called Lowe's, and after being forwarded to several other departments, and complaining, but trying to salvage the situation, another delivery was scheduled for the next day.

When the second team arrived, we breathed a sigh of relief. They were polite, cheerful, professional and very helpful in removing the old appliances, and installing the new ones. As my husband tipped them, he said, "Had we not had the bad experience yesterday, we wouldn't have had such a good one today." They were grateful and so were we. Thanks to Phillipe and Ritchie, for outstanding work.
