In response to Vickie Ross’ letter of April 22 calling out the Laconia Police Department for not being willing to work with ICE, I think it’s important to remember that we, collectively, have a fundamental responsibility to enforce the law fairly and with dignity. ICE does not have a great track record for doing this.
Focusing on the life-threatening journey of undocumented immigrants and the perils they and their families face not only on their journey but once inside the United States, I argue for a time-out on deaths at the border, illegal kidnapping and workplace and school immigration raids that split families apart.
I argue for humanity.
