Catherine M. Tokarz: Voting for Riley, Hoffman, Kessin and Hayward in Laconia

Readers know what they say: all politics is local politics. Therefore, to my friends who have asked me when my letter to the editor stating my opinion on the mid-term election is going in, here it is.

What an honor and privilege it is to live in Laconia and to support a premier candidate to serve as our city’s state representative. Denise Riley is such a candidate and has earned my support. Denise Riley graduated from Saint Anselm College and has served the public (aka taxpayers) for over 30 years as a defense investigator protecting all citizens’ constitutional rights. We have the opportunity to vote for a candidate who will actually listen and understand the issues we are faced with in this time of our lives. Denise Riley will fight our fight in the Legislature to present laws that will lower our costs. She will not support a sales and income tax. She will reach out with her right hand in a firm handshake to others of the opposite party in a respectful manner. It’s time to ignore the D and R of a party and focus on what the candidate is actually telling us. If readers have been paying attention, they will know America is being lead down a dark path. We can change that. Vote for Denise Riley, Eric Hoffman, Lois Kessin and Marcia Hayward because they are the ones who will stand with us and fight for us ... those of us who aren’t billionaires.
