Brian Gallagher: DeVoy is Republican only in that he says what need be said

I am writing this letter to ask for your support on Tuesday, September 8 for the re election of Senator Bob Giuda in Senate District 2. Bob has served with high distinction during his time in the state Senate, earning reelection.

What I find most important on supporting a person of Bob’s quality is his consistency of character and honesty to the people of this district. While serving in public office, Bob has clearly met this test as a true conservative and a true Republican.

He stands for fiscal discipline and supports responsible, necessary spending where needed, with a sharp focus on stewardship of the taxpayers’ dollars.

Bob respects the sanctity of life, our Second Amendments rights (earning an A rating endorsement by the NRA) and sound public health safety needs.

On the other side his primary opponent, Mr. DeVoy, a long-serving government member of the Belknap County Commissioners, demonstrates very different qualities. In his first run for public office he pledged to be fiscally responsible, however the budget under his direction as chair has grown 19 percent, beginning at $26.8 M to the current year 2020 commissioner proposal of $31.9 M .

In the same time period county taxes to be raised to support this spending frenzy have grown an amazing 14 percent, from 13.8 M to 15.7 M. What is very concerning about this trend is Mr. DeVoy‘s recent mailer, which says, “Fiscal responsibility, efficiency and transparency” are his top issues. As a taxpayer and voter this is very troublesome historical trend and frankly not believable.

Kindly measure a person on what they say and compare that to what they actually do. Mr. DeVoy’s true model is to spend to tax.

On the sanctity of life his position is foggy at best, coupled with a very, very poor C rating from the NRA. Our Second Amendment rights are not safe here with this evolving political candidate. On this these two issue another alone I see very serious concern.

Mr. DeVoy runs as a Republican to try to get elected (saying what needs to be said) however in reality his behavior in office has demonstrated what is commonly referred to as a RINO. (Republican In Name Only). Not a true conservative!

Having served in public office as a state representative, I feel very qualified to share with the voters that his spoken words are at best described as flexible and trend to evolve consistently over time. This does not measure up to the high character trait required for honesty. Reelect Senator Bob Giuda.

Ladies and gentlemen of the Sanbornton, Tilton and New Hampton area, I ask that you to support a good friend , a military veteran and a simply wonderful gentleman, Senator Bob Giuda, on September the 8 at the ballot box with your vote and pledge of support.
