To The Daily Sun,
The Kiwanis Club of Laconia hosted its 4th Annual Free Throw Competition, along with the first-time Jumping High Competition, on Feb. 1, at Laconia Middle School.
The free event welcomed 65 boys and girls ages 8 through 13, and motivated 7-year-olds to participate. Children competed in age divisions, encouraging one another while demonstrating sportsmanship, confidence, and enthusiasm in a family-friendly setting.
Support from local sponsors and volunteers made the day possible. The Laconia Kiwanis Club thanks Irwin Automotive Group, South End Pizza and Seafood, Belknap Tire, Funspot, Mix 94.1, Lou Athanas Youth Basketball League, Gator Graphics, and Bank of New Hampshire for their generosity. Contributions included warm knit hats, medals, gift cards, food, water, and promotional support.
The Kiwanis Club also extends appreciation to the Laconia High School Key Club students and their Advisors, Kiwanis members, parents, coaches, and volunteers whose efforts helped the event run smoothly. The use of the Laconia Middle School gym made it possible to host the competition safely during the winter season.
The 4th Annual Free Throw Competition continues to be a Laconia Kiwanis tradition in the Lakes Region, offering local children an opportunity to stay active, build confidence, and connect with their community in a positive and supportive environment.
