'Virtue signaling' is the new favorite hobby of Republicans

What has happened to the Republican Party in the aftermath of the terribly mishandled rally at Charlottesville, Virginia? Republicans have absolutely, unequivocally, nothing to do with the rag tag group of "white nationalists," including the several dozens who were wearing Nazi and KKK insignia. The fringe elements that comprise the KKK, white supremacists and Nazi sympathizers are universally condemned by 99.999 percent of our population. Are Republicans so afraid of the "racist" label that they dare not spout anything other than guilt laden and redundant platitudes about how awful these hate groups are?

It is Republicans who have fought Democrats to end racism against black people for over 150 years. Nobody told you that in civics class? Oh right, civics has been replaced by classes about white privilege and black studies. The racism in this country is still in existence of course, but most of the death and destruction from racism is coming from groups applauded by the progressive left. Oh, you didn't hear that from NBC, CBS, ABC, CNN and NPR? Shocking! They also probably did not tell you there is no country as diverse as ours that has dealt with racism as courageously as has the United States of America. Or for that matter, that it was Great Britain and this country that led the charge to end slavery worldwide.

Charlottesville is just the latest, but perhaps the most dramatic example of the growing racial divide that is being fueled by the Democratic left. Their motivation stems from their hatred of this country and their unquenchable thirst for more power and control over our citizenry. They know that there is no support for white supremacists, long ago relegated to a hateful, fringe group of ignorant lunatics. As someone recently wrote, "they are fringe losers playing dress up." The Republican Party detests them and always has. Leftist journalism like the Economist, the New Yorker and Time magazine, put Trump on their covers displaying him as a lover of the KKK. The Democrats nod their heads in approval like synchronized bobble head dolls. They know Trump is not racist, but they eschew any integrity in order to whip up racial strife and stifle free speech in order to acquire more power. And Professor Scott Cracraft continues to write as though he is a charter member of this morally bankrupt crew by, bet you can't guess, yes indeed, name calling, in his recent letter. He tells readers that Trump is an "emotionally unstable sociopath." Ah yes, yet one more vacuous comment from a man who teaches young adults as a professor, while apparently moonlighting as a psychiatrist. So who is the one acting emotionally unstable Scott?

So, just who is making these unorganized "klansmen" feel so important again in our society? Why it is the Democrats, most of the media and much of academia. But then like oxymorons gone wild, they blissfully claim that the Antifa and Black Lives Matter (BLM) movements are genuinely peaceful movements, out to eradicate racism forever. Ironically and nonsensically, the destruction and deaths that have emanated from their "peaceful protests" is necessary and proper. Uh, we have video of them beating the crap out of others, while acting like fascist thugs and 21st Century brownshirts, and yet the Democrats blissfully continue to deny reality. Nothing to see her folks. Please continue to genuflect and acquiesce to the superiority of the secular, Marxist- progressive Democrats, for they know better how to maintain a civil society. From Ferguson, to Baltimore to Berkeley and onward to the assassination of our police officers, Democrats praise these hateful movements for their courage. President Obama saluted the BLM movement right after the shooting deaths of five police officers in Dallas.

Mitt Romney, John McCain and even Ted Cruz speak as though they are unaware of the organized racists and fascists from the left that are running amok, tearing this country apart. Apparently, Democrats have graciously offered their immoral compass for guidance within the Republican ranks. Should we drain the swamp? No, no, said the alligator to the frog. Come on in and bask in my Utopian quagmire. Like the little bears bowl of porridge, the Democrats assure us that they are ready to create a socialist society that is "just right". Uh huh. Funny, I don't recall seeing the name, "Goldilocks," when I was in the voting booth.

Is it ignorance, lack of courage or guilt that has caused the Republicans to take up their favorite new hobby, "virtue signaling." Virtue signaling by Republicans shows that they are more concerned with enhancing their social status by repeating popular leftist platitudes about "white racism" that will supposedly seal their virtue with the citizenry. Hate groups of all stripes need to be unanimously condemned, as confirmed by our president, again and again. And from where I sit, the hate is far greater from the left than it is from the right and always has been. Will someone please let the Republicans know. Oh, and why do you think that Cracraft, Veverka and most of the lefty writers of The Daily Sun resort to nasty, name calling? Is it because they think it will shut us up or because they have nothing of substance to offer and irrationally fail to realize that the Democrats have lost their moral compass and seek to destroy our country and remake it into some sort of Utopian nightmare? Perhaps they will let us know and perhaps the Republicans will come to realize that their integrity is more important than preening for votes through the unvirtuous exercise that is "virtue signaling." And please leave the irony and oxymoronic behavior to the Democrats if you please. Perhaps conservatives could convince Republicans to learn the truth through online courses at Hillsdale College and Prager University. Hope springs eternal on the right.
