To the editor:
Instead of wasting taxpayer money on the Lakes Region Anti Terror Task Force, Judd Gregg could use that money more wisely to pay for more Civics and History classes in our public schools. This would do more to protect us from terrorism “post no child left behind” than any bean bag gun or pepper spray training. If Gregg is bent on spending money, he could spend it on more vulnerable and plausible targets like gas pipelines, ports of entry and land transit. The only terrorist group Judd Gregg needs to worry about in the Lakes Region is the American Friends Service Committee. If the police need money to handle Bikers, the business owners who benefit from it should take their responsibility for paying for it. They could do this by increasing the rooms and meals tax. Gregg should spend our taxpayer money more wisely.
