To The Daily Sun,
Bev Buker from Gilford did address a problem she has with the post office not delivering the weekly grocery fliers. Just a few weeks ago, I wrote a letter to the postmaster in Meredith, complaining about the same issue. Some of my neighbors did receive the fliers; this retired widower, always looking for bargains, did not get them.
When such neglect did happen twice during the month of September, I had to contact the postmaster. Someone is not doing the job they are getting paid for. The postmaster received my letter on Saturday. On Monday, in my mail delivery, I got last week's fliers. Well yes, those three-day specials at Shaw's were over!
That made me wonder: What are they doing with all the fliers they do not distribute as requested by their client?
Let us hope that the local post offices clean up their act. If they have mail delivery people not being aware of their important responsibilities, then let them go and hire dependable persons who can do the job. Maybe these letters will get the attention to those who pay the post offices for these services.
We all are most grateful to the folks at The Laconia Daily Sun for the opportunities to enhance communication within our community.
