To The Daily Sun,
I am writing to The Laconia Daily Sun because I can no longer stand by and be offended by your "cartoonist," Mike Luckovich. Each cartoon he scribbles out is an attack. Since when is it entertainment for cartoons to include lewd and offensive material? I not only refer to Feb. 14 cartoon, which pushed me to write this, but ALL his cartoons. Feb. 14 went way beyond anything resembling good taste,or funny. It was crass and ugly.
They say that cartoons are the persona of the artist.If that is the case, I sincerely pity anyone who knows him, works with him, or is a family member.
I understand that Mr. Luckovich is making his own personal political agenda statement with his cartoons. (They say that a picture is worth 1,000 words). It is his constitutional right to draw what he wishes, (and yours to publish) but it is also my right to express disgust, both with him and your newspaper for publishing his "agenda."
