Linda J. and Harry Wood (10-18)

To the editor,

The Johnson/Wood family has so many people to thank during this past month of grief and illness. Thank you to the Sanders and Christine and the wonderful staff at Golden View for their loving care of our mother during her last months of struggle with heart disease and dementia. So many times we would show up and see the nurses and aides hugging mom, calling her sweet names, combing her hair and giving every ounce of their being to making her happy and comfortable. We are so very grateful for all you did to help her.

Thank you, also, to the amazing people of Meredith who have reached out to us when our father died unexpectedly five days before mom. They both loved this town so much and would be humbled by your many tributes.. After 67 years of marriage, they were buried together. Thank you to Pastor Chris of Second Baptist in Sanbornton and Pastor Robert of Amazing Grace Farm in Troy for their words of encouragement and comfort. Thank you to our good friend and neighbor, Charles Bevilaqua for arranging for the moving Coast Guard tribute, the ringing of the bell ceremony, and memories that will always warm our hearts.

During this time, I was admitted to LRGH for major surgery. During my three week stay, the doctors, nurses, and staff worked tirelessly to help me recover and were also so very sensitive to the loss of my parents. Thank you Dr. Grobman, Dr. Fusoni and the vascular team, Dr. Ishak, and the amazing team of hospitalists and others who never gave up on me. A HUGE hug to my “special ladies” of orthopedics . You will forever be in my heart. Thank you to Dr. Matisse and the nurses at the ER last Thursday for their help and sensitivity and getting me back on track.

Finally, to my church family at Calvary Bible Church in Meredith who know how to practice the teachings and love of our Saviour in so many practical and compassionate ways, may God bless each of you richly and abundantly.
