To The Daily Sun,

Oh, the contradictions.

In the first paragraph about the N.H. Attorney General’s new unit (Dec. 15), we read that the “civil rights” unit will work hand in hand with a council to “promote diversity and inclusion.” So diversity and inclusion are now civil rights? And “promoting” is the same as “protecting?” Just checking.

Gov. Sununu said that the unit and the council will help ensure that N.H. lives up to its motto. How do government-imposed restrictions and morals let us “live free?”

AG MacDonald stated that the new unit will reinforce the work that the AG’s office already does. So, why do we need the extra unit? Is the AG’s office not doing its job properly? The unit will include education on eliminating “implicit bias.” Is that like “white privilege" or "male privilege?” Your tax dollars at work.

AAG Lahey says that these biases are the “...most pressing issues facing our state...” Are they in the same class as the opioid epidemic, unemployment, availability of medical insurance, and homelessness? Just wondering.

Mr. Fred Ross says that the need for this new unit is “a lot greater than you know.” That’s pretty vague. Presumably there are people who are fairly knowledgeable about real civil rights issues. Also, there are people who are truly being discriminated against. Is this need greater than they know?

Mr. Ross also says that “education is the key...for children.”.So, will that education work as well as our public school and college education? You know, the current system in which 33 percent of college students believe that socialist governments (that murdered 60,000-100,000 people) are a good idea and a significant percentage of high school graduates can barely read or do basic math. That kind of education?

Inquiring minds want to know.
