To the editor:

Enough said about Gilford employees.

Since September of 2006 when the Gilford budget process began our town employees have been continuously belittled by regular writing of letters to the editor or by comments made by individuals that have been reported by the press.

Up until Jan. 17 it was my opinion that it was better to remain silent then to end up engaging in a dialog with these individuals who are so vocal.

However the statement that appeared on the 17th that read, ”This is the arrogant attitude that is present throughout too many of our ungrateful town employees” I decided that enough was enough. Although the writer apologizes” to those of you who realize how good you really have it” their callous nature with which they wrote is not acceptable.

I feel confident in saying that the Town of Gilford has very dedicated and professional employees in all of our departments. They do not deserve to be ridiculed because they are municipal employees. They too have feelings. They too have families and many are also taxpayers within our community.

It is time that we work together for the better of our community and stop the childish actions.
