Assault weapons must be banned in all of U.S. now

A 2016 CBS news poll, after the Orlando night club shooting, asked, "Would you vote for or against a law that would reinstate and strengthen the ban on assault weapons that was in place from 1994 to 2004?" and found 56 percent support, but no Congressional action was forthcoming.

The ban expiration happened during the presidency of George W. Bush. Our potential banning laws have been the focus of the gun lobby ever since, though some states have enacted their own strict focus on keeping these weapons of mass murder controlled within their borders.

Borders? Fixing danger? Let’s have national law once again for our safety against assault weapons, that “wall.”

Banning weapons of mass murder by “make / model, semi-automatic rifles, semi-automatic pistols, shotguns, features test, magazine capacity” is legal language used in seven states and the District of Columbia. In D.C. where our U.S. senators and representatives live and work, THEY HAVE THE BAN and maybe their children are safe at schools or safer. Maybe their nights out they are safe or safer.

But what about the assault weapons already purchased and here, come into our midst after 2004? No more manufacture of their ammo, if we can never, unfortunately, call in and throw into the burn pile the weapons themselves.

In his Bowling for Columbine, 2002, movie, Michael Moore goes to the Kmart where the ammo was sold to the school shooters and wants the store to cease selling ammo.

We need to so love our children amongst us, nationwide. Our Congress must act now or voted out of office.
