To the editor,
It takes a community . . . and that’s what we had for our Leavitt Park Carnival that took place on July 24. Although the weather was extremely hot, there was a good turn out to help make the carnival a success.
The Leavitt Park Volunteers would like to thank the businesses that supplied prizes for our raffle tickets: Deloitte Consulting – their gift certificate was won by B. Pinard; LPCV gift certificate was won by J. Paquette; Boulia Gorrell gift certificate was won by C. Parris; Laconia Savings Bank bond was won by R. Gilbert; Northeast Tire gift certificate was won by P. Hertz and T-Bones gift certificate was won by D. Bourassa. A big thank you to our many bakers and to our local Police Department for their help in the dunking booth. A big thank you to the volunteers that are not members but showed up to help us: Dan and Olivia Thibodeau and Logan, Lori Beach, Estelle Dearborn, Don Ethier, Ed and Lee Gaudet, Tina Hayward, Karen and Trevor Lange, Tina Jurta, Chelsea Merrill, Chuck, Helen and Brianna Healey, Wanda Tibbetts, DeAnn Fortier, Armand Bolduc, Cindy and Yolanda Dinan, Captain Clarke, Officer Black and Officer Timkis, and Samantha Champion and her friend. Thank you to our newest members, Glen Smith, Luann Sanborn, and Kris and Melissa Genakos. We missed you this year Mr. Ed. And, of course, a huge thank you to our old stand-bys: Kerm and Nancy Merrill, Donald and Alice Smith, Earl and Shirley Clough, Ralph and Jerri Brunelle, Steve and Corinne Merrill, Don and Candy Laflam, Scott and Julie Hayward, Roger and Shirley Cardor, and Robert Fortier. Unable to attend were Warren and Jean Ray. A big thank you to vendors that helped in various ways: Vista Foods, Country Kitchen Bakery, and Trustworthy Hardware.
