BELMONT — Justin Clark enjoys spending one-on-one time with patients at White Mountain Physical Therapy, and one of the practice's main priorities is just that: providing top-notch, accessible and affordable patient experiences.

It’s why White Mountain PT staff dedicate an hour of time with each patient who walks through its doors, and it’s an approach founders Matt and Hannah Kurz are serious about.

So serious their popularity boomed, and after starting in Moultonborough, a second location opened at 150 Daniel Webster Hwy, in Belmont, on Jan. 12. Clark is taking the reins there.

“We treat everybody. All ages, all different conditions,” he said. “We do it mostly so that we can provide a good experience for our patient outcomes, and so far, that shows in our reputation in Moultonborough. We have a very good reputation, which we're super thankful for.”

The expansion was necessary, as the Moultonborough location was booked full. Wanting to keep the business in the Lakes Region, leadership researched locations before settling on Belmont, right on Route 3.

“There are really great folks around,” Clark said.

With the expansion earlier this year — located in the same parking lot as Robert’s Laundromat & Car Wash — Clark is eager to build up his customer base, and help individuals recover from an assortment of ailments.

“Most of the time, physical pain is correlated with movement dysfunction, and that's what we see is people coming in with — pain, but underlying movement pattern issues. And we work to correct those, and usually, the pain goes away,” Clark said. “But pain is also an interesting topic in itself. You can have pain for a lot of different reasons, even aside from physical dysfunction. So physical therapists are in a really unique spot where, like I said, we have the time to kind of really get to know the person, and kind of dive into more than just the physical stuff.”

Think neck or back pain; anything that hurts from head to toe. Clark and his team can also treat vertigo, jaw issues, post-stroke functions and spinal cord injuries. They also provide pediatric-specific therapy.

Originally pursuing a career in engineering, Clark fell in love with the workings of the body, and quickly pivoted to studying anatomy. He’s seemingly found his fit at White Mountain.

“I grew up in Weare, then I went to [the University of New Hampshire] for my undergrad. I sort of fell into PT. I was not doing it originally. I was doing engineering, and I transitioned away from that,” Clark said. “I mean, physical therapy is sort of biomechanics of the human body. So, then the whole, like, the whole machine aspect and, like, breaking down movement patterns and physics and all that was right up my wheelhouse. I kind of stumbled into it.”

Today, he has plans to relocate to Canterbury with his fiancée and continue to bike alongside his pals from the Moultonborough location. All White Mountain PT employees are active in their respective communities.

"[We] are very excited to be a part of the community here in Canterbury and Belmont," Clark said. "We love to trail walk and hike with our 6-month-old puppy, Annie, and I personally do a lot of bike riding, and get to see a lot of the beautiful roads and trails nearby where we live. We are very grateful to be living in this wonderful region of NH."
