TUFTONBORO — The Tuftonboro Police Department will hold a National Night Out event on Tuesday, Aug. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Davis Memorial Field, 205 Middle Road, next to the Tuftonboro Central School.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make neighborhoods safer and more caring places to live. National Night Out enhances the relationship between the public and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community. It also provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.

In addition to meeting the officers, police vehicles will be on display for an up-close look, and there will be demonstrations by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Department K9 unit and the New Hampshire State Police Bomb Disposal Robot.

Child ID Kits will be available, providing a personal record card with child-safe fingerprint ink, and other safety info.

Free hot dogs and ice cream will be served. Those coming are asked to bring a nonperishable food item for the food pantry.
