ALTON — The next meeting of the Tri-Town Democrats of Barnstead, Gilmanton, and Alton will be on Monday, Jan. 6, at the Pearson Road Community and Senior Center at 5 Pearson Road in Alton.
Gates MacPherson and Savannah Woolston of the New Hampshire Democratic Party will be guests at the event.
MacPherson, a New Hampshire native who graduated from UNH with degrees in English and journalism, serves as communications associate for the state party. She will offer tips on writing a letter to the editor: finding a way to express your thoughts in a concise and convincing manner.
Woolston, the digital director of the state Democratic Party, will offer ways to improve social media skills as well as speaking about digital ads and organizing. Woolston is from Alaska and has a degree in political science from Loyola Marymount. She worked for three years as a strategist at a digital communications firm in Washington, D.C., before joining the state Democratic Party.
There will be light refreshments at 6:15 p.m., with the meeting to follow at 6:30 p.m.
