State Senator Deborah Reynolds (D-Plymouth) on Thursday announced her intention to seek re-election in state District 2.
“I am very honored to have served the citizens of District 2 as their state Senator," Reynolds said. "I believe that we accomplished a great deal during this legislative session, especially in the areas of education, economic development, energy conservation, and access to affordable heath care. However, there is much more that needs to be done.
“I am seeking re-election because I want the opportunity to continue working with Governor Lynch and my Senate colleagues to serve the citizens in my district. One of my on-going goals is to sponsor legislation to create a state-wide, comprehensive broadband plan. In addition, I intend to work to expand business tax credits and create new job opportunities in central and northern New Hampshire.”
Reynolds serves on the Commerce, Labor and Consumer Protection Committee (formerly the Banking and Insurance Committee), the Judiciary Committee, the Ways and Means Committee, and the Rules Committee. She also was appointed by Senate President Larsen to serve on the Telecommunications Advisory Board.
Reynolds gained the District 2 seat by upsetting long-time incumbent Senator Carl Johnson of Meredith in 2006.
Senate District 2 towns Center Harbor, Meredith, New Hampton and Sanbornton in Belknap County and a long list of townships in Grafton County.
