LACONIA — After reports of a possible burglary in progress, a 24-year-old woman with no known address was found by police hiding under a bed in a Lakeport home Wednesday. Mackenzie R. Seely now faces charges of criminal trespass, resisting arrest and also has warrants outstanding against her that originated with Meredith police.

Seely is being held in the Belknap County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail. She is scheduled to appear in 4th Circuit Court, Laconia Division this morning at 8:30.

According to a police report, officers responded to 19 Appleton Street at 1:18 p.m. and found a broken window at the rear of the home. Because a car reported stolen in Meredith was parked nearby it was believed the intruder was still inside. After the house had been surrounded by officers, the resident informed police that he had received a text message from Seely asking him to tell police the house was empty.

Police say they placed calls to Seely's cell in an attempt to get her to come out of the house but that effort failed. Supplied with a key, officers entered the house and found Seeley hiding under the bed in the master bedroom. She was apprehended without incident.
