The Senior Warden and part-time administrator of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tilton arrested Wednesday at JFK International Airport will be returned to the state after a hearing next week, authorities said Friday.
Scott Nash, 46, of Northfield, was taken into custody as he got off a flight from Aruba.
The former youth minister is charged with molesting three young girls who are members of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tilton, and of taking more than $5,000 from the church. Nash had been the target of an ongoing investigation launched when the Episcopal Diocese reported to police the allegations of sexual assault.
Church officials have acknowledged that Nash was a popular figure among the members of the small congregation, having been elected as senior warden and having served as one of two youth ministers, in addition to being employed part-time as an administrator.
Nash has reportedly waived extradition and will return to New Hampshire after a hearing on March 4, Northfield Police said.
