The team from Laconia's Memorial Middle School placed third — behind Thornton Central School and Plymouth Elementary School — among eleven schools in the Regional MATHCOUNTS Competition held at Plymouth State University last weekend. MATHCOUNTS is a national competition to encourage and reward achievement in mathematics among sixth, seventh and eighth grade students.
